One of the highlights of my university life is my internship at the Senate of the Philippines. It is a blessing to be part of Senator Pia Cayetano’s brilliant and hard working team about 2 years ago. Just recently, I received a message that we were going to have a small reunion at Sen. Pia’s restaurant, Slice. Automatic response after receiving the message was definitely a Yes! Not only did I miss the team, but also excited to take a slice of what’s in Slice
Simplicity and class combined, 2 main characteristics of how Slice was designed. By looking at the restaurant and checking the healthy food selections from the menu, you would see how this restaurant reflects Sen. Pia Cayetano’s personality and lifestyle.
Choco Yema Cupcake (Php 60) – The simple yema twirls on top of this chocolate cupcake are the bomb! It’s highly addictive to get a bite even just a small one from this piece of cupcake. Simply delicious and enticing to take it home with you! Don’t leave Slice without ordering their Choco Yema Cupcake. No regrets, I tell you!
Citrus Burst (Php 70) – From something so sweet to something citrusy. A refreshing cupcake, good for the morning, that leaves you with healthy Vitamin C in your mouth. Bursting with citrus flavors, I must say this is my 2nd favorite next to Choco Yema Cupcake.

Red Velvet Cupcake (Php 80) – Different from other red velvet cupcakes I’ve tasted. Not thick and compact unlike others. Their version leans more on the healthier side – light, a bit fluffy and tastes less fattening. Although if you ask me, I’d go for the traditional red velvet, the fattening one. hehe 🙂
According to Slice, these are the muffins you should get if you’re on a diet.
Why? It’s a healthy eating plan composed of 5 to 6 small but balanced meals with known power foods and those with low glycemic index (also known as GI, it is the measure of the effects of carbohydrates in food on blood sugar levels).
You can check out Slice website, for more info about this Muffin Diet. You’ll never know, this might be the best and yummy way to get your dream slim physique.
From the outside window, these muffins displayed will catch your attention, drawing you to enter Slice. Be ready to resist temptation when you pass by.
More slices in Slice! One slice is not enough for one. I won’t be shy to admit that I wanted to get and taste each slice of cake I saw inside Slice.
Banoffee Pie or Banana Pie (Php 130)
Barbecue Chicken Rice Melt (Php 390) – Slice is not only known for desserts but also for their healthy meals like this Barbecue Chicken Rice Melt. From how it looks, I know it doesn’t look healthy at all. Dig deeper and you’ll see that they use brown rice for this one. Guilt-free type of food. So don’t be afraid to indulge.
Some of the dishes they ordered: (No descriptions since I was too shy to ask from them. Hahaha!)
Early birds or just really on time? Catch-up time with these people, my fellow interns at the Senate of the Philippines.
Cams! I missed this lady! 🙂
Atty. Karen Baydo, one fine and smart woman from Sen. Pia Cayetano’s team. Walang nagbago sayo Atty. Karen! You even looked younger 🙂

After dining, no way of feeling bloated because Slice assures your food is always healthy, organic and natural. Don’t worry about sacrificing taste over health. Slice isn’t a boring healthy type of resto. You get the best of both worlds – feel good and taste good food.
Pray, Eat and Love.
Cheers,
