Sunday morning rain was falling. The mood tended to be lazy and still at home after church. As the type of person who chooses to step out of the comfort home and scout for food, I didn’t allow our family’s Sunday afternoon to be affected by the cozy cuddle weather. I thought that it was the right time to drive out of the west side and go to the center of the metro, Manila.
During that lazy rainy weather, I know my family would settle for a bowl of hot noodles and they’re contented with that. Because of that, I knew they would love my idea to bring them to the newest ramen restaurant in Manila, Kokoro Ramenya
You could not go wrong about getting a bowl of ramen if the view from your window is full of raindrops.

The Food:

Hakata Classic (Php 325)
Rate: 4/5
Number one recommendation I would give you. I don’t know if it was just the weather that swayed me to enjoy this bowl of ramen but I can say that until now, I still taste and remember the milky & creamy broth of the soup that was boiled for about 18 hours. I particularly enjoyed how the egg was cooked. Soft but not overcooked yolk. One bowl is enough for 1-2 persons.
Beef Shoyu Ramen (Php 285)
Rate: 4/5
I first took a bite on one piece of beef before trying the soup. Trying it made me impressed with how soft the beef was cooked, just like how well-cooked the noodles are. Their noodles are freshly made daily, just talk about high grade quality. The beef flavor of the soup was strong and meaty as well. Although I would prefer to get Hakata Classic if I have to choose between the 2 ramen dishes I’ve tried.
Gyoza (Php 155)
Rate: 4/5
An appetizer you should not miss out at Kokoro Ramenya. Perfect partner of any ramen you get is a plate of Gyoza. It is tightly packed with with hot and juicy meat. If you’re into Chinese dumplings, then you will enjoy the Japanese version more.
California Maki (Php 185)
Rate: 4/5
Refreshing to the mouth as you mix ripe mangoes, cucumber, fish roe, Japanese mayo and rice. A famous Japanese food you should also not miss out in Kokoro Ramenya. Nothing so special but the fact that you have this as part of your dining makes your Japanese dining more legit.
My experience in making California Maki at Tokyo Tokyo flashed to my head while having this for lunch. It looks easy to make but unfortunately not. You need skills and focus to make it look that perfect and served equally.
Beef Teppanyaki (Php 445)
Rate: 5/5
Sizzling beef teppanyaki was gone out of my sight after 5 minutes. Dad, mom and Reine attacked the plate in a very subtle way. One fork at a time until they all disappeared. Quite pricey for its size but once you taste their Beef Teppanyaki, you’ll understand why. Tenderized and softened to get the flavors packed inside and out. Well of course, every Teppan would have its own side dish. Mung bean sprouts and corn in this case.
Spicy Tuna Sashimi (Php 255)
Rate: 4/5
Cube-sliced tuna sashimi that can fire up your throat for a bit may deviate you from the flavorful Japanese dishes at Kokoro Ramenya. Good to try this for the piquant side of eating Japanese.
For dessert, you can try any of the following:
Japanese Coffee Jelly & Ice Cream (Php 85)
Rate: 3/5
Green Tea Ice Cream (Php 85)
Rate: 4/5
Black Sesame Ice Cream (Php 85)
Rate: 4/5

I didn’t just have one, but 3 of them! Ice cream attack as usual! :))

Modern light that I noticed as I gaze upon the restaurant’s interiors.

Unpredictable weather of the Philippines can either give you raindrops or sunlight. In case it gives you raindrops, don’t just lock yourself in the room and miss out on great things outside your room. I think a bowl of ramen is the way to go for you. In Kokoro Ramenya, you will have a comfortable time enjoying your ramen and other Japanese food, especially as you take your favorite people with you.

Pray, Eat and Love.
Cheers,
