D’ Amburger Gastropub, Greenhills Town Center
Watching my favored basketball team win the game takes me to the winning side as well. From the point of view of a person who is part of the audience, the screaming and cheering paid off. At the same time, it confirms myself that I made the right choice. The proud feeling is there even though I am not in reality part of the team.
D’ Amburger started at one small stall located in Banchetto, Ortigas more than a year ago. The first time I tried their burgers or their famous Juicy Lucy Burger, I already knew that their burgers have the potential to be known. The quality of burgers I’ve tasted in the past gave me the gut feel that I should cheer and support their brand. Hence, I affirm that I’m not wrong. This team I am supporting is one team you should support too.
May 16, 2012 made history for this business. I am proud to announce that D’ Amburger Gastrolounge was successfully opened to serve their Banchetto customers like me in a more comfortable venue as we eat comfort food including Juicy Lucy and more…
D’ Amburger makes sure that their loyal customers enjoy prepared flamed grilled burgers made of 100% Brazilian beef. According to the chef, all their dishes are MSG-free and Extenders-free. Hearing that as a customer, it gives me confidence that foods I am eating in D’ Amburger are in good hands.
Pizza Burger (Php 350) - Allan, one of the owners, asked me to pick my order from the menu. It took me minutes to pick on what to try first because I was overwhelmed with all the good food on the menu. I wanted to get the classic Juicy Lucy but at the same time I also wanted something different for me to experience. Upon seeing Pizza Burger, I had thoughts that it might be too crazy for me to eat. Well, I chose to be crazy. Took the risk of absorbing thousands of calories just to try their Pizza Burger that is packed with Juicy Lucy patty in between two thick breaded mozzarella as buns.
This crazy burger made my mouth water the minute it was served to us. The texture of their burgers improved from the last time I tasted Juicy Lucy. It wasn’t difficult to slice and chew given that it’s 100% Brazilian beef. Cheese overflowing inside the burger patty was too good to capture on camera. It’s definitely the burger of the hungry and the foodie.
Crab Meat Mac n Cheese (Php 380) - I had doubts that they used real crab meat for the pasta. During my 3rd spoon, I was proven wrong. I tasted something hard while chewing. I checked it and found that I was chewing a tiny crab shell. :-| Thank goodness I didn’t swallow and digested that right away. I had more than 3 spoons and so far no more crab shells on my pasta anymore. Ziti, or large and long macaroni, was used as noodles. The creamy crab roe sauce got me to ignore the crab shell I tasted. Their pasta can add comfort to your pasta and seafood cravings.

Lumpiang Hubad in Pastry Cups (Php 110) - From the typical lumpia that wraps vegetables to a lumpia that bares it all. Its crispy open pastry cups gives an illusion of a high-priced appetizer even though it’s not. Fresh and small vegetable slices mixed with chef’s special sauce even made the dish taste seem pricey.
Ensaladang Talong (Php 140) - The only thing I wanted to eat was the salted egg. The rest, no thanks! I had a strange feeling I wouldn’t like the taste of this ensaladang talong or eggplant even though it was presentably served. One of the vegetables I don’t eat is eggplant. I just don’t like it because of its slimy texture, like okra. Part of my job is to try everything on the table. Thus, I tried it. While eating one spoon of this ensaladang talong, the strange feeling slowly vanished. I actually loved it! I forgot there were talong on it. Oh, and even okra, in which I only found out after eating. It didn’t taste like the ensaladang talong made at home or in other Filipino restaurants. Putting pinakurat vinegar and including grilled saba as part of the ensalada worked for me. With these two local ingredients on it, I was able to eat ensaladang talong.
Focaccia with dip (Php 100) - First, I thought it was complimentary. But when I saw the bill, oops it’s not. :-| I would rather get this as a free appetizer like in other Italian restaurants around the metro. Besides, the taste of their focaccia bread and dip - olive oil, black vinegar with cheese - is not that superb for me.
Quinticco Pasta (Php 1,550) - Pasta galore! 5 kinds of pasta in one plate made us want to try them all. Out of the 5 flavors, what stood out for me was their Fettucine Pesto Mare, the pasta on the right with white pesto sauce with mussels on top. I usually don’t order pastas with white sauce, although this one is an exception because of the pesto mixed that made the taste more delicious. Plus, fresh seafood used as mixture solved my pasta fix.

Acaci at the 2nd level of Acacia Hotel served us international & local breakfast food.
Vongole (Php 235) - Since no bread given to us, first plate on the table was Vongole or in layman’s definition, it is an olive oil based pasta mixed with clams and white wine. I didn’t admire the pasta too much maybe because I prefer eating pasta with bread. Eating the pasta alone, without seafood, lacks flavor for me. Although mixing the pasta with a bite of shrimp/clams, flavors generated that made me love it.
5-Cheese Pizza (Php 320) for the win! Chewy and oozing mozzarella muffling our taste buds gives me the right to rave about this restaurant from now on. Normally, I eat 1-2 slices of pizza because it bloats me to eat more than that. Amoroma’s pizza is insanely abnormal. It would make me jog for about an hour to burn what I ate, more than 2 slices of
How do you like your Wings? Buffalo Wings N’ Things gives you variants of how you want your wings to be done. 7 signature Buffalo Wing sauces available for you.
Champion Buffalo Wings (1/2 Pound - Php 134, 1 Pound - Php 264, Triple Sampler - Php 394) - We chose to grab Triple Sampler, wherein we could choose 3 types of sauces for our wings. Every single person on our table loves spicy foods. Thus, we chose all types of spicy sauces except the extreme ones. We had The Rookie, New York’s Finest and Firehouse Classic.
J.Co Donuts & Coffee knows their market, it’s us. They know how to please our taste buds as Asians. Yes, we do have sweet tooth, but I can generally say that Asians prefer desserts that are not overly sweetened. Like our skin color that is not so dark & not so white, our preference of donuts lean more on the “just right” side.
Some of the flavors you should try in J.Co - Alcapone, Why Nut, Tiramisu, Coco Loco, Heaven Berry, Chocolate and Strawberry Caviar, Oreology and more!
