Ramen X, Trinoma
The family does not normally go to Trinoma on a Sunday. One Sunday, dad drove all the way from Tagaytay to Trinoma for lunch. Mom was wondering why head to Trinoma if we can have lunch somewhere near our house, or somewhere along the road from Tagaytay. Everyone was silent. Well, she totally forgot it was Mother’s Day that day.
I had the privilege to bring my family and try one of the newest authentic Japanese restaurants in Trinoma. I thought it was the best time to pay Trinoma a visit since the last time we visited Trinoma was more than 2 years ago. Thanks to my friend, Charles, for inviting us to try Ramen X.
Yoshi’s Ramen (Php 159) - Dad is always the judge when we speak of ramen. I can still remember the days when he used to take us to Ramen Tei, one of his favorites around our area. I believe him when he says that the ramen is good. Good may be an overused word, yet it has different meanings depending on the tone he uses. When I asked him if the ramen is ‘good’, he answered back with a long ‘gooood’. That means, he loved Yoshi’s Ramen. We all love the flavor and Chinese-style wheat noodles used so we asked for more soup added to the ramen bowl.
Spicy Chikuwa 7 Ramen (Php 129) - Less toppings compared to the first ramen I tasted. A swift taste of spiciness as you try their soup. I like the simplicity of this ramen. It may not be too colorful or loaded as the other one yet the flavor is rich enough to cover that up. Generous amount of serving for its reasonable price.

At the Portuguese colonial area.
Nothing special in this area. More like a shopping and eating hub for me. Tourists all over the place, taking photos and roaming around the European-like plaza. This is where you can find cheaper food and items. Because in Macau, you really have to splurge. Almost everything’s expensive! The good side of it, you will get to appreciate the Philippines even more when you try visiting Macau.
Ruins of St. Paul
Focaccia with dip (Php 100) - First, I thought it was complimentary. But when I saw the bill, oops it’s not. :-| I would rather get this as a free appetizer like in other Italian restaurants around the metro. Besides, the taste of their focaccia bread and dip - olive oil, black vinegar with cheese - is not that superb for me.
Quinticco Pasta (Php 1,550) - Pasta galore! 5 kinds of pasta in one plate made us want to try them all. Out of the 5 flavors, what stood out for me was their Fettucine Pesto Mare, the pasta on the right with white pesto sauce with mussels on top. I usually don’t order pastas with white sauce, although this one is an exception because of the pesto mixed that made the taste more delicious. Plus, fresh seafood used as mixture solved my pasta fix.
Shrimp Dumplings in Soup ($ 33) - Freezing while walking down the streets of Macau made us order a bowl of steaming dumplings soup. As soon as the bowl of soup was served, we grabbed our soup spoons and sip before it gets cold. We were right to do that because after several minutes, the hot flavorful soup lost its purpose of warming us.
Deep-fried Shrimp Wonton ($ 60) - This is what you call, authentic! One of the best places to order crispy shrimp wonton is in Macau. Perfectly made shrimp wonton with its prime crispy texture and fresh shrimps as its filling. My shrimp wonton standard raised the bar because of this.
How do you like your Wings? Buffalo Wings N’ Things gives you variants of how you want your wings to be done. 7 signature Buffalo Wing sauces available for you.
Champion Buffalo Wings (1/2 Pound - Php 134, 1 Pound - Php 264, Triple Sampler - Php 394) - We chose to grab Triple Sampler, wherein we could choose 3 types of sauces for our wings. Every single person on our table loves spicy foods. Thus, we chose all types of spicy sauces except the extreme ones. We had The Rookie, New York’s Finest and Firehouse Classic.
Tita maris (left) joined us to celebrate my special day. I’m really touched how these people make time just to celebrate with me. Mom (right) really knows how to make me feel down and how to turn that feeling upside down. Haha! I loooove how she surprises me! Never fails!!! :))
Crowne Plaza gave me a birthday cake! Pure chocolate cake for the sweet tooth I’ve got :p
Starting my last day with authentic Hainanese Chicken on my plate. Not far from the hainanese chicken of
The sauces of Hainanese Chicken, soy sauce and chili sauce. No photo of the pounded garlic, but you should also add that in your sauce mix.
