We, pinoys, look forward to merienda time. After waking up so early just to get to work, then spending our time finishing things to be done and using our energy up, it gets tiring from time to time and requires a break away from those piles of paperwork. I get how that feels. I’ve learned to take a break if I feel I have to look away from the computer screen.
For a quick break, I walked and gazed around the mall searching for what snack to grab. The glass door of Mang Inasal opened and I started to look to my left. Zoomed a little closer to the menu display and had an immediate attraction with their new Palabok. The next step? I stopped staring at the photo ad. Sidestepped to fall in line and soaked my merienda time with Palabok! I have to admit, Mang Inasal’s Palabok tempted me that I can’t give ‘No’ as an answer. Besides, it was right on time for my merienda!
Other than taking a break, the purpose of my short walk was to discover what’s new out there. My mole stamped on my right ankle could probably symbolize my attitude of always exploring. I guess that’s why they call me The Food Scout, prepared and ready like a girl scout to get my feet walking and exploring the newest in town.
As I mixed all the ingredients, I was engrossed with its thin rice noodles soaked generously in its palabok sauce. I also added a sprinkle of calamansi for a quick hint of sourness. This is a scramble of delightful textures in one – crunchy, soft, slimy, meaty and saucy. My animated plate of bold colors and flavors kept me engaged.
Mang Inasal Palabok ads displayed made no mistake in showing the lavish sauce on top. Giving in to the temptation of trying and discovering Mang Inasal Palabok brought me no harm at all. I tell you, I’m not regretting a single moment of choosing this as my merienda.
I tried Mang Inasal Palabok three times already and I can attest to its consistency. The sauce is seriously rich, lavish and definitely a delight to satisfy my merienda.
On my part, Mang Inasal Palabok saved me from a mediocre merienda experience.
