A few more days, Valentine’s Day is coming!

I didn’t exactly try the dishes set for Valentine’s dinner. But then, I was able to taste Chef Marc Pagayon’s spectacular cooking, who came from Maple Restaurant, for our pre-Valentine’s dinner at the rooftop floor of Meranti Hotel.

Originally, the dinner was supposed to be set at the terrace beside the pool area. Since it drizzled hours before our dinner, management decided to transfer the romantic set-up inside the air-conditioned room, also on the same floor. When O and I entered the room, we felt the mushy air around us, with the whole fine dining ambiance. There were only less than 8 pairs, which made it feel more intimate. I think the same set-up will also be implemented on Valentine’s. Plan B inside the room, only if it rains. Well I hope it won’t!

The infinity pool pushed to the corner, with a view of Tomas Morato, includes a gentle clear glass waterfall that adds a touch of class. The sound of water dripping to the stones creates a zen mood, a relaxing one. We were all dressed up semi-formally for dinner and so we lacked time for swimming. Plus, food was in our mind and we forgot to bring our swimwear. Haha!

If you plan to avail the dinner with room Valentine’s package, breakfast buffet (6am-10am) is included.

The spacious room layout with a king-sized bed turned me lazy when I woke up the next morning. I just wanted to stretch my body flat on the cozy bed and dream some more! The relaxing gray and brown color tone of the room is exactly the opposite of my own room, which is pink and white. :p

After dinner, O had to leave while I had time to work on some blogposts while alone in my room.

The working desk has power outlets above the table where you can plug in your gadget chargers. The best part about working in Meranti Hotel’s rooms is that each room has its own speedy WiFi connection. That means, the wifi is exclusively for your room alone, with a designated password assigned to your room. Yes to fast internet connection, what every millenial needs! Haha!

 When I checked-in, the hotel staff who assisted me gave me a quick tour of the whole room. He explained to me each area and taught me how to operate their interactive Hospitality TV.

Using the Hospitality TV, I was able to check the weather forecast, order food from room service, control my morning alarm clock, use social media apps, find the wifi key and password and lastly, watch television.

The sink is exposed outside of the bathroom, not the typical for hotel bathrooms. So if you’re conscious about brushing your teeth or washing your face with your roommate sitting on the bed, you have to overcome it. Haha.

 The hotel provides important toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, bedroom slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc, all packed in witty boxes. The funniest that got my attention was the sewing kit named “Sew far sew good!” If you need a hairdryer, it is found inside one of the cabinets beside the closet.
