From Sizzlin’ Pepper Steak to Sizzlin’ Steak.
Just recently, Sizzlin’ Pepper Steak released its newest restaurant concept called Sizzlin’ Steak. The new concept of Sizzlin’ Steak might confuse you but it’s just the same brand from the 2007 established Sizzlin’ Pepper Steak. I actually thought I was having an old man’s eyes and memory while staring at the new brand of this restaurant.
Sizzlin’ Steak offers a wider selection of meat, which consists of different high grade steaks and seafood. With this re-branded concept, Sizzlin’ Steak lets their consumers choose which sauce and side dish they want to complete for that one-of-a-kind DIY experience.
As an avid supporter of Sizzlin’ Steak (formerly Sizzlin’ Pepper Steak), the most important thing that keeps me coming back to the restaurant is the freshness and temperature of my food. Normally, I take several shots of my food before grabbing my spoon and fork to start eating. With that said, my food on a non-sizzling plate gets cold easily. It’s not the restaurant’s fault ok? It’s my fault. But at Sizzlin’ Steak, it doesn’t matter if I take my time shooting the dishes. The hot temperature remains and keeps my food warm and fresh.

The Food:

Beef Kimchi Rice (Php 249)
Rate: 5/5
I couldn’t tolerate Kimchi. That was a big no no to me back when I was in my teen years. And so I thought that kind of mentality about Kimchi would last until today. Slowly but surely, I’m beginning to have a taste for Kimchi. Sizzlin’ Steak’s Beef Kimchi Rice brought more life to this korean dish. Keeping the tradition of eating dishes on a hot sizzling plate, Beef Kimchi Rice juiced out more of its flavors while in the middle of the sizzling heated plate.
Thin strips of high grade beef with piquant flavor of Kimchi rice, a deconstruction of how Koreans normally dine with their Kimchi.
Sizzlin’ Pasta (Php 229)
Rate: 4/5
It’s new for me to get a plate of Sizzlin’ Pasta. Same concept like any other main dish at Sizzlin’ Steak, wherein the noodles and meat are placed on an extremely hot plate that you wouldn’t dare to touch with your bare fingers.
From the way it was served, I ate the pasta bare without any sauce. After three bites, I found out I could pour on their in-house sauces for additional seasoning. You could choose from the following: Sizzlin’ Steak sauce, gravy, teriyaki, teri-mayo or white sauce. My sweet buds led me to pouring over teriyaki sauce for my pasta with chicken meat. Without any sauce, the sizzling chicken meat gave enough flavor to the whole plate.
Salmon Steak Set (Php 420)
Rate: 4/5
From red meat and poultry, I moved on to a fresh catch of Salmon Steak with Sizzlin’ Steak sauce, mashed potatoes and vegetables on the side. Very plain, quite ordinary I could say, yet remains a classic to savor especially if you believe in the power and health benefits of eating salmon.
Vanilla Cookie Butter Ice Cream (Php 99)
Rate: 3/5
The name Vanilla Cookie Butter Ice Cream gave me high expectations on what will appear on my table. Upon receiving my small bowl of ice cream serving, I’d say the presentation is a mediocre piece of dessert. The expected taste of cookie butter was surely on its glaze matched with graham crumbs for an added texture. Still, it’s a meal ender for those of you who want to cover the savory mouth you had from the sizzling meat.
Rootbeer Float (Php 110)
Rate: 4/5
