Hola! Como estas?
Oh I just miss Spanish classes. Back in college, I had about 7 Spanish classes all in all. Believe it or not, it was one of my favorite major subjects in school. Even if it got harder and harder every term, I still looked forward to every Spanish class I had. Anyway, let’s forget about my Spanish classes. I just have to mention it since it fits my post about my date with dad.
Speaking of our dinner, this dinner occurred while mom was at a dinner with her colleagues. Dad and I had our Spanish ‘date’ in Casa Armas, Podium.

To start off our meal, hot and fresh slices of bread and butter were served first. I am really fond of restaurants that give complimentary breads for starters. It makes the waiting period shorter. Plus, I love bread. So I can’t say No to this one.

Just a random thought, it would be better if they served us Spanish bread instead. 🙂

Look at my dad. Very supportive for my blog as he was trying to help me out take a good shot of the bread basket.

This is what you call Tabla de Queso (Php 285). Dad’s type of food, Cheeeeeese! P.S. He isn’t cheesy at all. Haha! As dad describes the food, “It’s like you want a bag full of cheese when you try this.”

He can finish one (1) tray of Tabla de Queso! I think he can munch on cheese the whole day. For me, I describe the taste as a bit salty. But when you get the hang out of it, after around 3 bites, you’ll appreciate its Spanish-like taste.

Next on our list was my choice, Tapa (Php 250), specially marinated beef of Casa Armas! Enough for 2 persons, based on my dining experience with dad. The marinated beef appeared to be sweet yet not too much. The meat was cooked tenderly, sliced thinly, which made me taste the flavor easily.

Every Spanish dining must have this, Paella Valenciana (Php 865). This dish was supposed to be the highlight of our dinner. However, it didn’t turn out to be one. Compared to other paellas I’ve tried, I don’t think I can say that Casa Armas’ paella is the best. There was nothing exceptional. The main ingredients were present, yet we weren’t both satisfied of how it was cooked.

Another Spanish favorite, Callos Carne (Php 395) I say ‘classic’. The ideal Callos I had in mind was the one I got. It was presented well on the hot clay-pot. The servings were enough, not bad for its quality.

Serenaded by the three stooges (hahaha! I just invented that) while eating. 🙂 Btw, I asked them to sing any Justin Bieber song because they kept on singing sad love songs to us. Those sad love songs weren’t appropriate at all for my date with dad. 😐 haha!

I commend Casa Armas for their customer service. They know how to treat their customers well, giving full attention and trying to be prompt as much as they can.
