Just a refresher, the first week of November is always dedicated to my dad. As I told you in my previous post, my family lives up to celebrating birthWEEK. I shared to you guys our family dinner in Sugi and how we enjoyed their teppanyaki and other dishes. This time, we wanted to switch and feel the Filipino vibe for the next episode of dad’s birthWEEK dinner. We hit the road to Serendra and mom made the final decision. Everyone followed the leader of the night and put dad in the Sentro of our attention.
Sentro 1771 is a family favorite ever since it was established in Greenbelt 3. Mom discovered Sentro 1771 during the time of her craving for Crispy Pata while we were at Greenbelt. The minute she saw Sentro 1771 in Serendra, every restaurant became a blur. She was certain that Sentro 1771 would be our destination that night.
Fried Kesong Puti (Sharing – Php320; Solo – Php180) – We all wanted an appetizer because of our hungry tummies. Reine made a perfect choice of ordering Kesong Puti for us to all try. We all enjoyed the crispiness on the outside and soft chewy Kesong Puti in the inside part. You will never go wrong in using Filipino products. And Kesong Puti proves it even more.
Pinoy Osso Bucco (Php 320+) – Osso Bucco is originally an Italian recipe and Sentro 1771 made a Pinoy version for the Filipino taste buds. Osso Bucco is actually “bone with a hole”. According to experts, it is a reference to the marrow hole at the center of the cross-cut veal shank. For Filipinos, an option of using beef is not a problem at all. Sentro’s version of Osso Bucco is so pleasing to eat combined with its sauce on your plain cup of white rice. It is soft and tender, truly one of the favorites in Sentro 1771.
String Beans Express (Php 160) – If you have tried Bicol Express, you will have an idea of how this dish tastes. The only difference is that no chunks of pork are included. I advise vegetarians to get this dish for them to enjoy Sentro even more. Their String Beans Express is rich with coconut milk flavor and the a little bit of chili spice.
Beef Binagoongan (Php 360) – This was my choice! I am very particular with how chefs prepare their meat. It is always evident as you chew the meat, especially hard ones like beef. For this Beef Binaggongan, I felt that it was easy to digest since the meat was soft and easy to cut using your spoon. They captured the flavor of bagoong, which is what I was looking for.
Sweet & Sour Shrimps (Php 420) – Everyone on the table was raving about the Sweet & Sour Shrimps as soon as they took their first bite. Unlike other sweet & sour dishes that is overloaded with sauce, Sentro’s version is different. As you can see, the sauce is thick and sticky to the shrimps. The family liked the crispiness and juicy flavor of the shrimps, together with the fine taste of sweet & sour sauce.
Boneless Crispy Trotter (Php 550) – A must-try in Sentro 1771. Mom will never miss out on their Crispy Trotter or Crispy Pata. It was the dish that kept on moving around on our table.
Bottomless Sago’t Gulaman (Php 110) – Refreshing and unlimited; two of the main reasons why you should order their Sago’t Gulaman. The sweetness level is not overwhelming, just right as you eat your favorite Sentro 1771 dishes.
Dad got a free treat from Sentro 1771 because it was his birthWEEK. 🙂
Cheesy moments of mom and dad made everyone giggle. They were both feeding each other. Hahaha! :))
Pray, Eat and Love.
