A week ago, I was invited to a dinner at Superbowl. I was more than 30 minutes late due to attending another dinner prior to that, with my bestie Pat. 2 dinners in one night isn’t a joke. I kind of felt bad for myself for not making it on time. 🙁 I didn’t have enough time to take photos of the dishes in Superbowl. When I arrived, the group have already started. Only a few dishes were left, which aren’t pleasing to take photos of. I thought it was unfortunate for me. However, the negativity turned positively because I was seated beside 2 young fellow Lasallians, Fred and Jes.
Fred and Jes introduced me to their business named Little Louie’s Cupcakes. Jes is in-charge of baking and production while Fred is more on the sales & marketing side. This young couple impressed me as they shared with me their story on how this cupcake business started.
Both of them are college students in De La Salle University – Manila, my alma mater. As Lasallians, I get how business minded they are since our school encourages us to be entrepreneurs no matter what our ages are. They’ve got the talent, the skills, the brains and the taste for food. These characteristics entitle them to share their product, Little Louie’s Cupcakes to the world.
Little Louie’s Cupcakes make every single cupcake special with their unique flavors – Apple Carrot, Granny’s Spiced Red Velvet, Golden Banana Crumb, Irish Cream, Salted Caramel, Jack Daniel’s. In addition to their special flavors, Jess bakes typical cupcake flavors like Dark Chocolate, Vanilla Chocolate and Milk Chocolate.
Among the flavors they made me taste, my top 3 flavors are (1) Salted Caramel [middle] , (2) Red Velvet and (3) Jack Daniel’s [2nd from the left].
Salted Caramel (Php 50) is a winner cupcake for me! Be surprised once you reach the middle part of the cupcake and get a touch of that salted caramel filling. Legit, it’s really good! Blends well with the icing and chocolate cake.
[Left] Jack Daniel’s (Php 75) – A type of cupcake adults would enjoy during cocktails. The taste of Jack Daniel’s on the chocolate cupcake is evidently strong. I’m sorry kiddos, this type of cupcake is not advisable for you. Once you try this, I advise you to eat moderately. 🙂
[Right] Granny’s Spiced Red Velvet (Php 45) – One of my favorites! In eating red velvet cupcakes, I already have a taste expectation and that has to be moist, thick cream cheese that will not overpower the cake bread. Little Louie’s Cupcakes even surpassed my expectation by adding a twist. They spiced it up! If you are looking for a new kind of red velvet, you guys should try this one! 🙂
