Young food entrepreneurs showcased what they can offer to the food industry at this one-night event called Foodgasm. Brought to you by UP Economics Society, Foodgasm is a food tasting event where you get the chance to taste, test and rate yummy delights prepared by small-time food entrepreneurs. Every person who steps inside the vicinity of Foodgasm is a judge.
The event happened last August 25, Saturday night, at Mercato Centrale. Instead of having dinner elsewhere, Foodgasm was the way to indulge our taste buds.

What I Scouted at Foodgasm:
Paella Valenciana of Flavor Avenue
Not the best paella I’ve tasted but it was remarkable because of its salted egg that made the paella more flavorful. I had a small serving that was scooped from the top part, which didn’t allow me to test if the burnt bottom part of the paella taste delectable as well.
Blue Toque’s “The Ultimate” is the winner for me and the rest of the judges of Foodgasm. From how it looks, it seems to me like a regular 5-layered cake with different chocolate flavors and textures.
I was surprised after getting myself a bite of this ultimate piece of cake. In just one bite, I immediately felt that this desserts stands out from the rest. The Ultimate is composed of Belgian Chocolate Ganache, white chocolate mousse, chocolate mousse, chocolate cake layer and chocolate nutty crust.
The cake has the bragging rights to support their name, “The Ultimate”, since it was really the star of Foodgasm. If you were there, I bet you also noticed Blue Toque as one of the best or probably the best among the rest of the desserts.
I noticed this cute and pretty tower of Butterscotch delights as I entered the tent of Mercato Centrale.
There were three flavors I tried from Sweet Inspirations – mango, chocolate and original. The best one for me is their Original variant. I like how it was served – pretty presentation and pretty good taste with its moist and right kind of sweetness fused to it.
A bed of chocolate cream cupcake by The Pastry Cream. For a small cup, it was very chocolatey. Good for chocolate lovers, bad for those who don’t fancy “too sweet” desserts.
Foodgasm was on fire that one night. I didn’t stay that long because of the heat it caused my back and forehead to perspire. The air conditioner was not cooperating with us so if you were there, I bet you saw my face sweating like a pig. Nonetheless, it was an experience to be part of this event. Thank you UP for taking The Food Scout’s logo to your event. Good to see my logo flashing on the screen while everyone’s “food judging” for that night.
Pray, Eat and Love.
Cheers,
The Food Scout
