The new Robinsons Magnolia near my area is becoming one of my favorite malls nowadays. It becomes a top of mind hangout place recently. So far, I have temporarily concluded three main reasons why. First, the location is a big factor. Accessibility to the mall doesn’t make me worry about traffic or gas consumption. I know that in less than half an hour, I could make it to the mall. Second, the atmosphere matters a lot. There’s something about high ceilings and less crowd that attract me. Lastly, the choices of restaurants they have at Robinsons Magnolia. More restaurants that are apt to my taste-buds are opening now.
Why Lombardi’s? The name came from Chef Davide Lombardi, an Italian culinary master who had tremendous experiences in hotels and restaurants in Italy and France. If I am not mistaken, that was around 24 years of experience. He came to the Philippines to teach and venture into sharing Italian cooking secrets to “chefs wannabes”.
Our Italian dinner started with my favorite seafood, Salmon. Thin slices of salmon formed and shaped circular to match the plate. The texture is extremely thin that if you are not careful, you can break off the slice. I wasn’t able to manage eating it with the greens on top. Contentment comes when Salmon is around. The taste is more flavorful since it is seasoned with balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
I already reached my cheese quota when I had this mozzarella sandwich. Soft and tasty bread filled with mozzarella inside to fill my mouth with cheesy goodness. Greens were added in case you wanna eat a little less guilty after indulging on its mozzarella cheese. Tomato salsa were also included, which you can use to add flavor to your Mozzarella In Carrozza. I suggest you to make use of its spiced salsa to give more excitement in eating this dish.
Thinner pasta that the usual. Whether its thin pasta tangles or not, the taste of fresh tomatoes and generous amount of meat clearly satisfy anyone’s hunger.
Star of the night goes to this Ravioli! I didn’t only like it, I love it! As you cut the center, you’ll see and taste chopped fresh meat that will linger to your mouth. Fresh taste of tomatoes appeals to the entire dish. This pasta dish is too inviting that I want to go back for this.
A simple pizza topped with mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, basil and little pieces of meat. Good choice that the toppings were not crowded with meat and other toppings. The only problem I had was the crust on the edge part was quite tough to chew.
The second star goes to Panna Cotta Del Piemonte! I usually share all my dishes to people but for this dessert, I was kind of disappointed I had to share this with someone. I adore how creamy and not-so-sweet the Panna Cotta was. I wish I have one now while I’m writing this post. Remembering the taste makes me drool. =)
Gelato in the house! What makes their gelato different from the rest is the type of milk they use, which is Goat’s Milk.
I’ve seen a bunch of restaurants with this kind of interior. What stands out is its story as told by Cyrus Cruz, Group Marketing Head of the Cravings Group. According to him, the wood planks you see at the store were originally from an old house right beside CCA in Katipunan. How resourceful right? Turning garbage into something useful.
Robinsons Magnolia didn’t make a mistake to add Lombardi’s as one of their restaurants located at Al Fresco area. Surely people will love this mall because of restaurants they offer like Lombardi’s.
Pray, Eat and Love.
