Call it abusive but this is still part of my week-long birthday celebration. 🙂 An intimate evening with a few of my closest friends and relatives, all gathered in one of the newest restaurant at the Fort Bonifacio area named P.F. Chang’s. For those of you from Alabang, P.F. Chang’s should be quite familiar to you.
Mom didn’t treat this dinner as a surprise for me. She gave me the freedom to choose where to celebrate the end of my birthweek. I didn’t take time to check out other food blogs nor research on where else to eat. Instantly, I thought of P.F. Chang’s since I missed out the opening day, which occurred a few days before my birthweek dinner. Freedom allowed me to pick P.F. Chang’s. Besides, I was confident everyone will love the dishes here.
I’ve tried Alabang’s P.F. Chang’s, an international franchise from the US, when it was fairly new. Comparative to Alabang’s branch, the new branch at Fort is also noticeable because of their modern Oriental and Western interior and furnishings. You could recognize their dishes based on how the restaurant was designed. Expect a mix of Western and Oriental flavors on your dining at P.F. Chang’s.
Shrimp with Candied Walnuts (Php 795)
Rate: 5/5
My love for this dish is inseparable. Just by looking at the picture when I first saw this dish at Alabang, I knew my tummy would be longing for this. I wasn’t ready to accept a ‘not available’ from the waiter after ordering.
Immediately when the plate of Shrimp with Candied Walnuts was served, I had the urgency for the other dishes to arrive so everyone can start with the main dishes. I could say it didn’t disappoint my expectations. It was still over the term ‘delicious’. I seriously loved the combination of sweet walnut and honeydew to the candied shrimps.
Dumplings (Php 165)

Pork or vegetable? It doesn’t really matter. Both flavors catches anyone’s dimsum cravings.
Spicy Green Beans (Php 180)
Rate: 4/5
I thought carnivores around the table will ignore this dish. I was wrong, it was actually well-liked among my guests. Not only vegetarians, which was nowhere to be found that night, would get their stomach full with Spicy Green Beans, but everyone who loves spices and Sichuan preserves.
P.F. Chang’s Fried Rice (Php 200)
Rate: 4/5
Good enough for 2-3 persons this Wok-fried rice blended with egg, soy, carrots, bean sprouts and sliced scallions was ordered the most. After everyone tried this rice, they didn’t want to order or try other mixed rice anymore. For me, it was too flavorful for the main courses on the table. Plain rice is still the best if main course dishes are too saucy or too flavorful with spices.
Great Wall of Chocolate (Php 395)
Rate: 3/5
The six layers of rich chocolate cake is engaging to look at, but when you deal with taste, mediocre is my verdict.
The strawberry and raspberry sauce gave the chocolate cake a more complex taste, bringing it to the fruity and berry side.
GF Black Sesame Pavlova (Php 175)
Rate: 3/5
Described as lemon curd sandwiched between black sesame meringue layers. Raspberry sauce and fresh fruits complete the presentation. If you were to ask me, I’d go for a gelato outside P.F. Chang’s for dessert or maybe go to the nearest dessert bar for a cupcake or cake. I didn’t enjoy their desserts that much.
Blew my candle once again for my final birthday wish. 🙂
Goofing around and playing with my sister’s phone.
It’s always relaxing to walk along the streets of Fort, especially when the wind blows my hair.
P.F. Chang’s will definitely be visited frequently. One, for it’s food; Second, for it’s good location; Lastly, for its excellent service. I appreciate their crew for not only attending to our needs but being proactive and take an extra step to make sure every guest is well-served.
I know I didn’t disappoint anyone with my choice to dine at P.F. Chang’s. Two thumbs up for this place.
…And this is how my birthweek ended for 2013. 🙂
Pray, Eat and Love.
