Sizzling Sisig (Php 185) Rate: 4/5 |
Grilla Rockwell took me back to memory lane of my college days. Back in college, our organization named Santugon, a political party in DLSU, used to hold aftermath celebrations at this place. After campaign period, after election days, after hectic training evenings, Grilla is usually the next stop. It’s like our second home next to school. The second floor veranda was our spot back then.
After years, I went back to Grilla Rockwell but this time as a blogger.
Now, I’d like to share with you Grilla’s must-try dishes on the menu.
Pork Sisig (Php 185) – I bet the photo above is making you drool now. It’s a disgrace not trying any of their special sisigs in the house. What I usually order is their Bangus Sisig or Chicken Sisig. If I can’t decide, then I get their Sisig Sampler for three variants of Grilla’s special sisig plates. Something I appreciate about their sisig is the consistency I get whichever branch I visit, either Greenhills Promenade or Rockwell.
Garlic Longganisa Rice (Php 125) Rate: 4/5 |
A tip for you my friend. If you are on a budget and you are starving to death, Grilla’s Longganisa Rice that’s good for 2-3 persons could already squeeze in the nutrients and carbs in your belly. Just don’t forget to ask for a small saucer filled with spicy vinegar. This will surely fix your hunger yet not damaging your allotted budget.
Tinapa and Salted Egg Rice (Php 155) Rate: 4/5 |
My kind of rice! I had a cup of Tinapa and Salted Egg Rice to partner with Grilla’s Filipino specialties without even noticing it. Salted egg is one delicacy I love having, especially for breakfast. When choosing salted eggs, I go for the dark yellowish yolk that’s oily at the same time. This is one simple combination I prefer, salted egg & tomatoes. Pinoy na pinoy!
Sizzling Lechon Baka (Php 340)
Rate: 4/5 |
How come I never ordered Sizzling Lechon Baka before? If only someone told me about this, I would have kept on ordering this with my friends. Another sizzling delight to try at Grilla. Rich in protein and sauce you’d want to keep on scraping for added flavor on your rice. What else is good about this? It’s Beef! My alternative for not consuming pork is this savory plate of Sizzling Lechon Baka.
Pancit Luglug (Php 225) Rate: 3/5 |
This is it Pancit! Pancit Luglug lighter version of Pancit Palabok and Pancit Malabon. Thin angel hair-like rice noodles with seafood garnish, spring onions, slices of hard boiled eggs. Ordering Pancit Luglug is ideal for merienda or snacks.
Grilla Feast (Php 890) Rate: 4/5 |
What’s on the plate?
Inihaw na Baboy,Chicken ala Pobre, Pan-Grilled Tilapia with Teriyaki Sauce, Green Mango Salad, Garlic Kangkong and Garlic Rice.
BBQ Feast (Php 585) Rate: 4/5 |
What’s on the plate?
Chicken BBQ, Inihaw na Pla-Pla, Grilled Begukan Spareribs with Tomato-Shrimp Paste Sauce, Pickled Eggplant and Java Rice.
After the feast, we were all grouped according to our tables and seats. All in all, 4 groups of bloggers joined the Quiz Night sponsored by Zomato and Grilla.
Choco Lava, Blue Illusion and Island Chill |
The favorite trio cocktails of Grilla.
College days stamped my Grilla memories. Every part of that restaurant shares a small detail of those times. To give you a clear picture of those days, let me share you snapshots of my “nene days”.
These were some of my Grilla and Santugon days:
