I’ve found a new restaurant to rave about. To Filipinos who thinks pork is like a massage to your belly, I guess this post is for you.
It is never a waste of time and gasoline to discover a new restaurant, most especially if it surpasses your expectations. Livestock Restaurant & Bar is just one of those places that surpassed my expectation of a Filipino restaurant located in Quezon City. The home of Melt-in-your-mouth Crispy Pata serenades every hungry man with the sound of crisp, crunch and juiciness of their dishes, most especially their pork dishes. Pork is Livestock’s passion. Once you take a hold of their menu, you’ll see that 1/2 of their menu is allocated to their pork specialties.
Didn’t the first photo make you hungry? Pace yourself, it’s just the beginning of this pork madness at Livestock!
The Food:
Seafood Laksa Soup (Php 290) Rate: 4/5 |
The fragrant smell of laksa climbed all the way to my nostrils and turn my head close to this spicy seafood soup. A soup of sweet with a hint of sourness and touch of spiciness. The Singaporean style of laksa may be ideal to my taste but Livestock’s version had me going for more.
I call this the alternative for calamares, especially for alcohol drinkers who prefers appetizers as their beer’s partner. Shrimps that resembles to popcorns have made more flavorful with spices powdered all over. Garlic mayonnaise dip could also give the appetizer a balance of flavor. I honestly took Shrimp Puffs for granted because of other dishes served that beat its presentation and taste. You’ll understand me when you see the Crispy Pata that was disturbingly out of this world!
Pig Wings (Php 320/3pcs; Php 440/5pcs) Rate: 4/5 |
Not a simple plate buffalo wings. From the photo, it might be the usual buffalo wings we love. To tell you the truth, these buffalo wings are actually wrapped with crispy bacon and dipped in buffalo sauce. Livestock doesn’t want to miss out on showing their love for pork by including it to every dish they can think of. Going nuts over chicken wings! I want to order this again!
Livestock Caesar Salad (Php 230) Rate: 3/5 |
I say yes to salad all the time. But at Livestock, I semi-turned away from it even if it’s just… in front of me. 🙁
This Romaine lettuce tossed in creamy caesar dressing gets out of the ordinary with its crispy pork belly hiding inside the healthy greens. I actually love their salad, it wasn’t just too engaging to get a load more because of other savory and meaty dishes prepared.

Rich Man’s Pot (Php 360) Rate: 5/5 |
Get the feeling of a rich man by trying this pot of 8 treasure ingredients of pork ribs and assorted veggies on top of abundant steaming hot rice. Inspired by the Chinese cuisine, attractive colors decorating the pot made it very enticing to taste. You cannot go hungry and poor with a bowl like this. It’s already enough to feed more than one lonely tummy. I have to say this should be part of your must-try list!
Mushroom Duxelle Fish Fillet (Php 289) Rate: 5/5 |
Fish fillet topped with mushroom duxelle and a twist of lemon caper sauce tops my list as well. A new way of enjoying a simple fish fillet with or without rice. Filipinos cannot exclude rice, so I say rice is best enjoyed with Mushroom Duxelle Fish Fillet. It’s generally a lightweight dish giving room for more!
Four-egg Spinach (Php 230) Rate: 3/5 |
The chef and owner, who happens to be Chinese, brought in the influence of Chinese cuisine to cater Four-egg Spinach to a Filipino pork-themed restaurant. Spinach sauteed with century egg, egg whites, salted duck egg, topped with sunny side-up quail eggs. A warming bowl if you think egg is therapeutic to you.
12-hour Roast Beef (Php 378) Rate: 3/5 |
US Angus Beef slow roasted with aromatics and then charred Churrasco style. [Churrasco, a Spanish terms that refers to beef or grilled meat] Thinly sliced that you can easily absorb the flavors of US Angus Beef. Savor every munch as you slowly digest and say goodbye. These pieces of meat rock and roll with fresh rectangular carrots.
Livestock Crackling Pork Belly (Php290/300g; Php490/500g; Php895/1kg) Rate: 5/5 |
Crack those knuckles because you aren’t settling down yet. More usage of your hands as you should hold tight those utensils for the tastiest meat at Livestock, this Livestock Cracking Pork Belly. My goodness! Absolutely brings more life to eating. What a fantastic and gorgeous dish by Livestock! All levels of generation will forget their age when they see and taste a portion of this pork belly.
Melts-in-your-mouth Crispy Pata (Php 590) Rate: 5/5 |
Last but not the least! This is what we’ve been all waiting for, the 5-star Melts-in-your-mouth Crispy Pata you cannot miss out.
Seriously speaking, the popsicle stick that looks like a shark’s fin is strong like a knife as it can slice through this melt-in-your-mouth Crispy Pata. You might be mistaken. The power does not lie on the popsicle stick but on the juiciness and tenderness of the crispy pata.
Hassle-free way of indulging by just the use of a popsicle stick!
Everyone can’t help but gather around the server to watch him while he prepares the easy-peesy crispy pata. Oh we can’t wait for our turn to fork those meat out!
I can argue with you if you say this is the average joe crispy pata you’ve tasted. The completeness of flavor in every bite, whether you get the skin or the meat. Truly the crispiest pata I’ve tasted!
I guess this Crispy Pata is any woman’s diet ruiner. Don’t you worry, whatever your size is, there is no reason to hide behind the shadows. But to be sure of your healthy, bring your meds when you dine in here. You don’t want to drive your way to the hospital afterwards.
Livestock Bacon Ice Cream Rate: 4/5 |
Before I walk my way to the restroom, the lunch cannot be over without dessert. Well, I still had room for dessert! 🙂 Livestock Bacon Ice Cream served with toasts of bread gave a quick ending smile to my face. There you go with pork madness, it doesn’t end until dessert. It will chase you until the very end of your Livestock experience.

The Ambiance:
At night, Livestock shifts from a homey room to a relaxed party place with bands performing outside by the veranda.
Wrecking balls as ceiling lights.
The stairs of humor showing the photo of an ape that evolved into a man then slowly turned into a pig due to excessive pigging out.
At the roofdeck, there you’ll see their homelike view with comfortable couches to lounge. A kind of lounge you want to sit around with your friends, chitchat while drinking a glass of summer coolers. For me, I only thought of relaxing, especially after being stuffed from my lunch. Sit like a princess on the couch, take out my laptop and do my online shopping at Zalora.
Wide screen HD TV in front of the bar.
More than just to chow, it’s also a home for those who prefer gulping than munching.
Parking shouldn’t be a problem at Livestock. This home-like establishment is situated in a compound wherein you won’t be troubled worrying about where you parked whether you dine in the afternoon or late at night.
The feel of home with the perfect taste of meat. I know my time and gasoline weren’t put to waste. I urge you to drive all the way and give Livestock Restaurant & Bar a try! Get your notes ready and write down Crispy Pata and Livestock Cracking Pork Belly as your must-try dishes at this place.
