Is this another gastropub in Metro Manila?
The Perfect Pint, the newest gastropub in Bonifacio Global City, makes a name for its vision, which is to promote the delectable world of craft beer & food pairings. They are ready to take the risk of taking consumers’ pub experience to the next level. The Perfect Pint offers a whole new experience or may I say this gastropub is a game-changer by not serving local commercial beers but serving only craft beers. These craft beers are brewed locally by fellow Filipino-owned independent breweries. Craft brewers are known to be small, independent and traditional. We can also call them as “purists”. To name some, local craft beers served are from Katipunan Craft Ales, Craftpoint Brewing Company, Pivo Praha Corporation and more.
But before I take you to the beverages, let The Food Scout drive you to their menu, created for perfect pairing with craft beers by Chef Gene Gonzalez and his team.

The Food:

Cheezy Croquettes with Mustard Sour Cream (Php 200)
Rate:4/5
Through the first bite, we instantly judge the atmosphere of any restaurant already. I’d say this first bite gave me a reason to want more. The deep-fried cheesy croquettes served on a long plate appeared classy for a starter. Deep fried very well making every bite enjoyable to my soft palate.
The introduction of this dish gave a general picture of all other dishes to be out of the ordinary surprising you with its own twist.
Smoked Fish Spring Rolls (Php 160)
Rate: 4/5
Twisting the usual springs rolls by using smokey fish flakes gives a touch of Filipino flavor that will attract Filipino beer drinkers looking for their perfect beer match. Smoked Fish Spring Rolls is an excellent choice for an after-work catch up with colleagues kind of evening.
Burger Sliders (Php 380)
Rate: 5/5
Topped with creamy truffle béchamel and truffle paste, the burger sliders seemed to be the snack of my night. The sophistication of using truffle boosted the juicy flavors flaming in that one small burger slider. I don’t name it as the best burger in town but nibbles from these Burger Sliders push you to enjoy the night of craft beer and simple twisted good food at The Perfect Pint.
Bacon Wrapped Liver (Php 280)
Rate: 5/5
The love affair of bacon and liver. Bacon embracing the liver with hot mango cilantro mint dressing. According to most guests, Bacon Wrapped Liver is their favorite craft beer partner for the night. If you have a taste for liver, you can’t live The Perfect Pint without trying this.
Mussels in Beer (Php 380)
Rate: 4/5
Mussels in Beer takes you to plunge more on craft beers. Pairing it with G-Point Wild Ride makes all the savory ingredients used for this dish stand out even more. The problem with this platter of mussels is the ghostly effect after having one. Once you try it, you might be unconscious of numerous mussels you finished on your plate.
Pork Ear Salad (Php 220)
Rate: 3/5
They call this as their Asian inspired salad doing it The Perfect Pint style with thinly sliced pork ears, boiled until soft and gelatinous mixed with an Asian style dressing.
Stinky 5 Cheese Pizza (php 560)
Rate: 5/5
No matter how stinky this pizza can be, we still love it! Don’t get me wrong about the term stinky, it’s not that stinky that will clamp to your clothes. It’s the kind of stinky wherein if a waiter carrying a plate of Stinky 5 Cheese Pizza passes by, your nose won’t help but notice it. According to Chef Gene Gonzalez, Taleggio cheese made the pizza stinky. Taleggio has the characteristic of being aromatic yet mild in flavor and has a fruity tang.

The Beverages:

G-Point Wild Ride IPA
(Php140/330ml; Php200/pint)
It is the British style IPA, hoppy yet refreshing. It has the citrus background that even non-beer drinkers might consider trying and liking it. G-Point looks to be the favorite of foreigners. This beer matches very well with savory burgers.
Katipunan Indio Pale Ale
(Php190/330ml; Php260/pint)
The first craft beer in the Philippines is something we should be proud of. The balance of sweet and bitter is what you get from Katipunan Indio Pale Ale. Distinctly flavorful with a strong aroma that captures every Filipino’s taste for beer.
The Perfect Pint also showcases their very own home-brews like Guts N’ Glory, an American style IPA. More limited edition beers will be offered by The Perfect Pint to create excitement for their beer-loving consumers.

The Ambiance:

The Perfect Pint envisions itself to be the venue for the small craft brewery to showcase their creations. The gastropub strongly believes that one great advantage of sourcing from local craft brewers is the guarantee of freshness and flavor. As you can see from their hand-painted wooden wall, it captures their simple statement for all of us, “Savor The Flavor”.
The BGC community will love this place! For those who enjoy calling it a day, taking it to a gastropub, this is the spot for you.
Live sports telecasts such as NBA playoffs and finals will be shown for the sports enthusiasts.
The three Tempongko brothers – Alec, Noel Jr. and Raymond, who brought The Perfect Pint and the highly-acclaimed master of their kitchen Chef Gene Gonzalez.
It was so nice of Chef Gene to sit with us and have a chitchat about his creations and passion for food.
