The spot where Ristras Mexican Grill was first known has been taken over by a new store around the corner. Spice Island Trader gets a good spot for their unique foodie finds. No, they aren’t another milk tea shop that tries to join the circle of milk tea stores in San Juan nor a store that sells spices, whose name can be quite deceiving for passersby. Spice Island Trader is a mini store of all your imported favorites. Think of a baby S&R but purely food!
Everything imported! Walk inside the store, scroll your eyes and you’d want to shell out your cash and buy the good stuff for your pantry.
Price wise, Spice Island Trader sells at a reasonable price since the primary business behind the store is importing of goods from some of familiar brands like Trader Joe’s. If you’re a lucky one, you might be right on time to catch special discounts on some of your favorite products. When I visited, Cadbury and Ovomaltine spread were on Sale!
Battle of good and evil breakfast on this rack. Quaker Oats’ Oat So Simple above and crazy spreads below – Cadbury, Lotus Cookie Butter and Ovomaltine.
It took time for me to finally choose what to take home. I cannot be afford to buy every single kind I want, even though I want to. hehe. To narrow it down, I’ll share with you my top food finds at Spice Island Trader.

Top Food Finds:

Cadbury and Ovomaltine Spread
The lucky me caught Cadbury Spread for only Php 275 and Ovomaltine for Php 255. Both from its original price of Php 340. Yahoooo!
Annas Original Thins
Ginger Thins gives non-stop pleasure for me. It’s too sinful!
Goody Good Stuff
Something for the kids, Goody Good Stuff.
Milo Nuggets
My perfect snack while watching NBA Finals with O. The packaging is actually too tiny for me. One pack only lasted a quarter of the game Miami Heat vs San Antonio Spurs.
Pringles
Got a thing for Pringles? Choose your flavor from this rack!
USDA Steak
Surprised to find out Spice Island Trader brings in cheaper steak cuts, similar to what you can get from grocery stores.
Horlicks
Hello Horlicks! I know some people flying out of Manila for this. Now you know there’s a store around the corner of San Juan for a jar of Horlicks. Spare your friends or relatives from adding this weight to their baggage. 🙂
Ovaltine
A hot cup of Ovaltine keeps this rainy weather warmer and chocolatier.

Maltesers
For the past few months, people drive to Spice Island Trader for a bag of Maltesers drink. Based on sales, this is one of their best-sellers.
You know it, anything green tea captures my eye! Whatever the name is, I’ve got my eyes on it. I had to bring home for my green tea pleasures.
More Trader Joe’s items to get your hands on!
There are days where we run out of snacks but not entirely a list of grocery items. In that case, there’s a store to stop by, Spice Island Trader, for your imported food finds.
Drive now to Spice Island Trader and see what pleases your foodie desires!
