Good news dimsum aficionados! Crystal Jade Shanghai Delight at Greenhills Shopping Center, the home of authentic Shanghai treats, is treating you to a weekday dinner of unlimited Shanghai dimsum delights from August 4 until the end of August. For how much? I’m surprised for its price because it’s only Php 488 per person! That’s reasonable given they include my favorite Xiao Long Bao on the unlimited menu!

“We offered the Weekday Dimsum Dinner Buffet in Crystal Jade Shanghai Delight not only to heed the call of our dining public to offer unlimited portions of our popular Xiao Long Bao, but also to acquaint Filipino diners with the different brand of flavour of Shanghai cuisine,” according to Mylene Lim, Chief Operating Officer of the restaurant.

The Food:

Mylene Lim also shared how proud she is with their Xiao Long Bao, “Aside from using only the most premium of ingredients to ensure the best taste and quality, we also have a Chinese Dimsum Master Chef that freshly and carefully prepares the dish per order, to ensure that flavours are properly sealed, and that the broth does not coagulate, even when the dumplings have already cooled down.”

Back when Crystal Jade first opened years ago, my family and I were excited to fall in line for Crystal Jade’s dimsum. We didn’t care if we were on the waiting list. Their Xiao Long Bao is really worth the wait. When I told mom of this Php 488 promo, she gave a look of excitement, planning her visit in order for her not to miss out on this unlimited promo.

Other than Xiao Long Bao, I’d also go back for their Pork Dumpling with Hot Chili Sauce. Dipped in chili sauce, I thought it will fire up my mouth. I like the balance of its fresh steamed dumpling that blends perfectly with the amount of chili sauce pool. No need to add soy sauce and lime/calamansi for flavor.

If you want to rest from dimsum, order this bowl of noodles that is also part of the dinner buffet. A plain unembellished noodles that I adored. It’s the simplicity that makes this noodles attractive.

Filipinos won’t fail identifying “siomai” on the table. It’s a Chinese delicacy every Filipino found appropriate for their meal any time of the day. Crystal Jade’s siomai stands out the moment you taste the freshness of its crystal shrimps, a premium quality type of siomai. Way different from what you get from siomai stands.

I don’t crave for congee but this version of Crystal Jade gave me a simple good run.

To the meat conscious or those who prefer vegetables, Steamed Vegetable Dumplings will suffice.

Crystal Jade’s Dimsum Buffet is available from Monday to Friday, 6:00pm to 9:30pm until the end of August.

The dimsum buffet includes unlimited iced or hot tea as part of the package. I was a rebel and chose to partner my unlimited dimsum with Green Mango Shake with Sago.

Crystal Jade Shanghai Delight has a more casual ambiance compared to its sister restaurant, Crystal Jade Dining In at Bonifacio Global City, which has a more elegant dining area with high ceiling.

Don’t be confused. The two restaurants differ in their menu. If you go to the branch at BGC and look for Xiao Long Bao, unfortunately you won’t get it from them.
