Hiding beneath a mask blocks real freedom. Hiding beneath that facial mask is another thing.
Before flying off to Brunei with my family, O and I had a mini facial session in my house. I wasn’t able to set an appointment with YSA for my facial treatment so I improvised an amateur session using facial masks.
Just a disclaimer, I’m no expert about beautifying. But I must admit, I’m always enchanted reading about beauty products and how it works to take good care of my skin.
For the past few months, Korean beauty stores have been catching my eyes. Chic and perky stores in shades of pink and pastel colors stops my feet from walking and turning sideways to step inside the store. What stops me from reaching my arms to the products is the uncertainty of its compatibility with my skin.
Recently, a friend who owns an online beauty store called Jar of Gems sent me one of her Korean beauty products, Foodaholic Facial Mask. To be honest, I was iffy to get my face on it. Something new for my face scares me at first. But then, how could I know whether it’s good or awful unless I let myself try it.
When the package arrived, I was surprised to see one pack for men. Obviously, it’s for O. I called him up and he agreed for a mini facial mask session at home.
I prepared the products needed for our mini facial session, including packs of Foodaholic Super Skin Food Care mask, facial wash and toner. At the back, you’ll find Korean and english instructions that simply states the step by step process to follow.
O and I a.k.a. “Jilliver” will show you how easy it is to use Foodaholic Facial Mask.
How To Use:
Step 1: Wash your face with any facial wash compatible to your skin.
O and I used Burt’s Bees Deep Cleansing Cream, which I reviewed in one of my beauty blog posts.
Step 2: Get a piece of cotton ball, dab your favorite toner and clean your face before proceeding to the next step.
Guys, I know it’s such a hassle applying these steps before the main event of applying the mask. 🙁 Sorry about that. Blame it to whoever invented skin care. Haha!
Step 3: Now, it’s time to apply the mask.
I chose Foodaholic Green Gram for elasticity and moisturizing my skin.
O didn’t have a choice but to use the one specified for men, Dermal Moisture Facial Essence for Men.
Match the sheet from the eye and fix it all over your face using your fingertips. After 20-30 minutes, you can now take off the mask. Notice the remaining sticky fluids on your face. Like using a moisturizer, gently arrange it all over your face. Leave it as if it’s your moisturizer. Don’t worry, it will dry off after several minutes.
Both masks exhibit a 3D three-dimensional shape mask that fits perfectly to your face.
The 3D shape natural pulp mask is a soft fabric that leaves no irritation to the skin. With this kind of fabric, the moisture lasts longer than regular polyester fabric normally used as facial masks.
Best to use after your beauty regimen at night. Exactly before you hit your buttocks to the bed.
Facial Mask Plus Points:
1. Mini facial mask session together could be de-stressing as it calms our faces and feel how it moisturizes it in between 20-30 minutes.
2. Easy to use. Just use the mask 2-3 times a week, an additional step to your daily routine of cleansing your face.
3. Inexpensive – For Php50-70, you can pamper your skin even in your room.
4. Portable – If you’re traveling, bring few packs to your luggage. While you’re in your hotel room, have some time to relax using facial masks.
O’s childish nature came out once again, playing with the mask as he gently wore it.
Now our moisturized faces are all ready to travel and explore after our mini facial session using facial masks from Jar of Gems.
Thank you Jar of Gems for supporting our “Jilliver” tandem.
