From a Saturday of dripping sweat from beach activities and cook-offs, Sunday weekend trip with my D12 started slowly with a more relaxed ambiance. Pressure turned off on who creates the best breakfast on the table. It was a steady steady Sunday with no agenda. Relax, rest and head back to Manila. Here’s a quick flashback to one of my weekends months ago with church friends.
Some ladies, including myself, woke up earlier than the rest to prepare breakfast for everyone. With our leftover ingredients from last night’s serious cook-off, composed mostly of eggs, I teamed up with the ladies in being resourceful for preparing our breakfast table. Hotdogs, omelettes, bread buns, leftover burgers, chicken and pork, the muscular breakfast for the winners started the day right.
Walked a few steps from the dining room to feel the breeze of Tagaytay and. Morning devotion by the garden led by Mark swayed with the outdoor ambiance as it refreshed our Sunday even more.
The whole gang color coordinated, in red, white and black.
After finding out that most of them haven’t visited Sonya’s Garden, the tourist guide in me took them to a quick stopover at this magical garden.

The ladies took the path leading to the Proposal Garden. I didn’t join them in there to avoid daydreaming in that kind of setting. Haha!
Before leaving Sonya’s Garden, I couldn’t miss out the scent of Spanish Bread sitting inside the car on the way back to Manila. The simple joys I get from Tagaytay is really Sonya’s rich, full and heavy Spanish Bread.
Sylvanas from Balai is another delicacy I look forward to, in every Tagaytay road trip. Too late, I arrived very very late. Sylvanas ran away and joined other customers. The best-selling Sylvanas didn’t even make it to my cravings. On the other hand, I had the chance to try another best-seller, their hot and fresh buko pie with pastillas. Now I have two items on the list to buy from Balai Pasalubong, Sylvanas and Buko Pie.
Last but not the least, we filled our empty stomachs with crispy pata, chicharon and bulalo at LZM Restaurant.
That’s a wrap for our flashback weekend!
