To my fountain pen and calligraphy aficionado friends, this blog post is for you.
Forget about Moleskin notebooks for now and let’s support local products.
Introducing… Elias Notebooks.
Handcrafted in the Philippines, every Elias Notebook is a gem for fountain pen addicts like the owner herself. The owner, who is also named Jill, was on a quest to find the perfect notebook to write on. Unfortunately, not a single notebook was fit for her standards – her fountain pens’ standards perhaps. And this is why she created her own line of notebooks with every page friendly to her sets of fountain pens, Elias Notebooks.

Large Dark Green Blank Notebook (Php 699) |
Elias Notebooks is composed of 90gsm ivory paper, which I find it neat and classy. 2 paper variations to choose from – blank or ruled.
My sister, who helped me with this shoot, requested if she could have one. I asked her to pick either lined or blank. Since she’s into doodling more than writing, she automatically pointed on the large dark green blank notebook (5.6×8.6 in).

Small Red Lined Notebook (Php 499) |
On the other hand, I’m glad this small
red lined notebook (3.4×4.9 inches) was left for me. The journal writer in me prefers more organized pages, writing my stories word per word in straight lines.
If you think it’s an ordinary notebook to carry along, open the notebook to the back cover. There you’ll see a small pocket where you can store your paper notes or maybe sweet notes you want to keep. Oh, you’ll also receive a small love note from Elias Notebooks telling you their background and a message on how to take care of your notebooks, specifically Elias Notebooks.
One funny thing I did with it, I took my nose closely to the notebooks for a quick smell. I don’t know if that smell test counts but I found it pleasing to smell. Hehe. However, I was irritated that it’s not a layflat notebook because of its hardbound leather cover.

Front page using Fountain Pen |
As said earlier, Elias Notebooks is primarily for fountain pen addicts. Nope guys, I’m not one of them but I do appreciate writing with fountain pens. Just trying to show you how it would turn out when you use your bleeding fountain pens.
First, I wrote one of my favorite words using this Parker Fountain Pen. Next, I checked the backside of the page. Surprisingly, the ink didn’t bleed through. Yes, I was surprised! Because normally, my journals couldn’t handle the crying ink of fountain pens.
|
Backside of page |
Since there was no bleed throughs, the back page can still be used to write on.
Writing on Elias Notebooks is smooth and party addictive, that I couldn’t let go of my pen.
For doodlers like my sister
Reine, your
gel pens and
sign pens are compatible with the paper.

Elias Pen Case (Php 300) |
Every paper needs a pen. To make it more organized, Elias’ Pen Case can fit 2-3 pens. Like the journals, pen cases are also made from genuine leather.
|
Passport Case (Php 450) |
Elias products don’t stop with notebooks. Passport cases from Elias can fit a Philippine passport or any standard-sized passport.
With your passport, you can insert 2 cards inside. You could probably choose to insert your credit card or mileage card for traveling convenience.
To purchase your own Elias Notebooks, you can find them in all major National Bookstores and Powerbooks. For those who’s lazy to get out and find them, order from their
website or
facebook page.
