When was the last time you had a staycation?
The busiest season for most of us is usually the ‘ber’ months. Loaded with work, add the traffic stress to that, we dream of a vacation away from our typical working days. However, taking a leave is something to consider, that isn’t always possible. I remember when I was working for a multinational bank, we had to plot our leaves before the start of the year. Ugh! That was stressful! Anyway. I know not everyone, unless you’re a freelancer, has the chance to take a break from office work. So, a staycation within the metro is the answer for a short rest in a different environment. It isn’t a hassle to do this over the weekend.
B Hotel, by the Bellevue Hotel & Resorts group, is a stylish 4-star hotel offering 5-star services located in Quezon City. Attracting with a youthful spirit of industrial design and interiors, my sister Reine and I felt the relaxation instantly. The hotel is an ideal resting space for businessmen, families and people who want to treat themselves to a weekend staycation without leaving metro manila.
The Room:

Superior Room |
I was ready to jump straight to the all-white cushiony king-sized bed until I was reminded I must show you a photo of how my room looks before it gets messy and crumpled. Haha! As I turned around 360 degrees, I felt like I’m in a minimalist bachelor’s pad. Staying close to hues of grey, wooden pieces of furniture and more artsy objects, the room ambiance appeals to us with its warm industrial look.
One framed photo and one television. The flat-screen TV size is not too huge, as you can see it’s about the same size as the framed old Ayala Makati photo, but fairly enough screen size for a couch potato.
The most interesting part of the room ladies and gentlemen – the
glass bathroom. If you have visitors in your room, make sure to pull down the blinds. You don’t want them to see you sitting pretty on your throne. :p
Don’t ask why the
bathroom sink is not actually inside the bathroom. I think it looks unusually cool out there. Works well for this space-saving
Superior Room. I didn’t find a hairdryer in the room, normally found in drawers. So, I had to call the operator to request for one, without any charge.
Supply of
complimentary water, coffee and tea for a cozy stay in the room. I hunt for tea every night btw.
An in-room
WiFi access is given for free yet I still don’t recommend you to work while you’re booked for a staycation. Although for emergency work purposes, the workstation with necessary plugs can be your mini office by the window. For outgoing local calls, there is a charge of P15/call.
A small fridge was under the table, useful for your ice cream tubs as you stay awake late at night.
The Amenities:
Just look at that inviting royal blue
swimming pool of B Hotel. Don’t forget your swimwear on your
B Hotel staycation ok?
Also on the same floor, state-of-the-art business centers and function rooms are located. Intimate weddings, parties, or all sorts of occasions may be accommodated at B Hotel’s function rooms.
In the morning before breakfast, I used the gym’s
treadmill for a quick 3km run and
anti-burst ball for ab crunches. When you want to use the
gym, bring your room card key with you to access the gym room. It’s also best to call the reception before you head to the gym to make sure somebody would assist you with anything you might need, like turning on the machines or using the television while working out.
Breakfast:
Our room had a
complimentary breakfast for two (2). A small corner had piles of bread, cheese, salad, cereals and fruits, my type of breakfast especially after sweating in the gym. The other side had a row of hot plates of filipino and international cuisine.
I got what I wanted to start my day,
Champorado with milk. I missed this kind of breakfast!
Beverages were gathered in one corner – coffee, tea and fresh fruit juice.
Daily breakfast is located at the
Lobby Cafe.
Overall Experience
In general, B Hotel covers my needs for a weekend staycation. I don’t demand too much anyway. The cleanliness of my room and facilities met my expectations. The fact that it’s a new hotel would have contributed to that. During my visit weeks ago, the main lobby was still under construction, which I think will be completed by early next year. No major impact on me since the temporary doorway was also in front of the building, by the parking space. Although from that doorway, you have to climb up the stairs to the lobby. For those with huge and bulky luggages, you may ask the bellboy to assist you. The staff gave their best to serve professionally in a friendly way. The location is close to Tomas Morato restaurant gems and a few minutes away from EDSA.
Slide into the industrial style of B Hotel Sct. Rallos and experience a well-rested staycation not too far away from home.
Pray, Eat and Love.
Cheers,
