The search for AirAsia Travel Photographer contest continues!
Last week, AirAsia selected 6 young aspiring photographers  from over 500 participants. Already on its second-year, this photo contest is part of AirAsia’s continuous effort to inspire, engage and empower the youth to pursue their goals by traveling and sharing their stories through stunning images and photographs.

Held at Casa Italia in Bonifacio Global City, the top 6 finalists were announced. They were selected based on their personality, creativity, content, originality and technical or visual presentation. Now, let’s meet the six!

The six selected finalists are Neil Michael Cardano, a Hotel Front Desk Officer from Puerto Princesa, Palawan; Mithilaya Miclat, a Nutritionist-Dietician and Social Entrepreneur from Davao City; Eliseo Zuniga, a Lawyer from Taguig City; Kimberly Pauig, a Writer from Pasig City; Daniel Magbanua, a Fashion Photography Student from Quezon City and Dave Poblete, a BPO Employee from Makati City.

These six finalists will be traveling to Shanghai, China this August for the final leg of the competition, which includes series of challenges in landscape, portrait and food photography. The Grand Winner will be declared as ‘AirAsia Travel Photographer of the Year” and will receive 200,000 AirAsia BIG Points, surprise vacation package and more prizes from partner brands including GRID magazine and Flight 001. WOW!! I’m excited for them! It must be a tough competition!

Meet the panel of judges, talented young leaders and veterans in the field of photography, branding and visual arts. Nachi Ugarte, creative director of GRID magazine; Jacob Maentz, documentary photographer; Wawi Navarrosa, artist/photographer, founder of Thousandfold; and Rudy Khaw, AirAsia Group’s head of branding, all shared their thoughts and advice to participants during the selection process held at Casa Italia in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
